This is an historical classical country house which developed out of a 17th century house.
In the late 18th century Sir John Soane remodelled the house and gave it architectural unity.
That unity was eroded by changes made by David Brandon in the mid 19th century together with partial demolition in the mid 20th century.
The restoration of the house included the reinstatement of the Soane detailing
and the design of the new 'pavilion' on the East front, together with a new double height back hall.
The East front 'pavilion' is best described as Graeco-Romano mannerism with homage paid to C R Cockerell
and Michaelangelo's early architectural work in Florence.
The project includes the design and construction of a new Bath House within the grounds of the House.
