This listed 17th century gabled vernacular house had a severe Georgian ashlar front put on it in the early 19th century whilst retaining the vernacular brick façade to the garden.
The restoration of the house included the provision of a new kitchen and bedroom wing extension. The kitchen extension links to the house by way of a three bay loggia constructed out of Bath stone and employing the order of the theatre of Marcellus in Rome. The entrance façade to the kitchen extension is astylar and in brick, thereby providing a contrast to the garden loggia.
The interior included a new back hall with a central Doric column and Soanian radiating arches.
In the garden, adjoining an outdoor pool, a Bath stone pavilion pays homage to the work of Plečnik.
