This new chapel was consecrated in August 2006 and won the
Georgian Group award for
the Best New Classical Building in 2006
The commission included the design of all interior fittings including the pews, kneelers, church silver, tabernacle, organ cover, chandeliers, lectern and Priest’s chair.
The chapel is enhanced by a very significant contribution from Alexander Stoddart in respect of sculpture for the chapel. His work includes a bust of the dedicatory saint, a processional cross, two reredos bas-reliefs, life size figures of St. Augustine and St. Nicholas and a bronze tympanum of St. Monica.
