Restored 1936 Neo-Georgian former Post Office exterior, carefully adapted as the offices of Craig Hamilton Architects.

THE OLD POST OFFICE

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The restoration of a historic former post office as offices for the Practice. The building is almost unique in having been built in 1936 during the reign of Edward VIII, and is a classic example of the Neo-Georgian style employed by the Office of Works in the 1930s for government buildings. The surviving high-quality interiors were restored to their original appearance, including the reinstatement of the polished post office counter, and refurbishment of the former sorting office, perfectly suited as a drawing office for the Practice.
